Peregrine Racing Returns to SRO Stage in 2022

San Jose, Ca. (April 4, 2022) — Peregrine Racing with Carbahn Motorsports is set to embark on their first full season of SRO America competition with an entry in the 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge America Presented by AWS series with the familiar Audi R8 LMS GT4 platform. Team veteran Tom Dyer will be the Pro driver all season and co-owners and drivers Sameer Gandhi and Mark Siegel will take turns at the helm as the Am pilots throughout the season.

The team will have home-field advantage right away with the first race of the season taking place in the rolling hills of Northern California’s Sonoma Raceway, only a few hours from Carbahn Motorsports’ headquarters.

Sameer Gandhi aims to gain more experience behind the wheel, expanding his racing efforts this year with the addition of the SRO campaign. He’ll collaborate closely with Pro Tom Dyer, and progress alongside him throughout the season. Gandhi will run the majority of the races, with co-owner and driver Mark Siegel filling in at select rounds. Siegel also looks to develop his skills in SRO in addition to his Pilot Challenge duties with Peregrine in 2022.

Peregrine has achieved considerable success with the Audi R8 LMS GT4 platform in years past with multiple wins, podiums and the team’s first championship—the 2019 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge title. In their most recent SRO effort, they achieved a top-10 finish in the second race of last year’s Road America event.

Peregrine Racing will hit the track at Sonoma Raceway for the opening round of the SRO season on April 15-17, 2022. The double header weekend will be prefaced by a day of testing on April 14. INSIGHT FROM THE TEAM

Tom Dyer
"Im looking forward to the SRO season in the Carbahn with Peregrine Racing prepped car. It will be good returning for our second year of SRO competition, while also working together with Sameer and Mark to continue furthering their progression as racing drivers. No matter where we go we are always competitive and having a good time together. As a bonus, we get to kick off the season at our home track where it all began and where we became friends and teammates. Ironically, we haven't raced at Sonoma yet together so that’s going to be really cool! Goals for this season are the same as always—constant improvement and striving to improve on our best results."

Sameer Gandhi
“I am thrilled to be partnering my teammate, Tom, in a full season of SRO this year. Already, we have a lot of experience driving together. We each know what the other wants from the car, and this is the perfect opportunity for me to develop my race craft on a global stage and gain seat time at the most exciting tracks in the United States. I expect to find synergy between my parallel experiences in SRO and IMSA this year, helping me achieve my goals as efficiently as possible.”

Mark Siegel
“In 2022, Peregrine Racing with Carbahn Motorsports will do a full season in SRO in the GT4 class. We’ll be driving the Audi R8 LMS GT4 with Tom Dyer as our Pro, alongside team owners, myself and Sameer Gandhi. Last year, we entered a handful of races, but we’re excited to make a run at the full season this year given all the experience and success we have had with this car.”
